COT — Commitments of Traders
In plain English. Every Friday the CFTC publishes exactly how much of each futures market the largest trader groups hold. This is not sentiment and not a survey — it is the reported book of leveraged funds, managed money, dealers, asset managers and commercial hedgers as of the preceding Tuesday.
How the model works. It converts those raw positions into a comparable 0–100 crowding scale, so an extreme in cocoa can be read next to an extreme in the 10-year note. Use positioning as context for trend and valuation, not as a standalone timing signal.
Covers 50 futures markets across equity indices, rates, currencies, crypto, energy, metals and agriculture.
